   Our goal at Hard Duck is to help you prevent dryer fires, and increase your dryer efficiency by following dryer recommendations, for using hard metal duct. We also work to reach that goal by providing valuable and practical information in regards to the warning labels provided on every dryer sold today across the U.S.

   Throughout our work, we have been asked many questions about dryer vents, and safety techniques to help prevent fires related to faulty dryer installations. Q: I've never heard of anyone having a dryer fire. How big of a problem is it really?

A: According to the U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Incident Reporting System, there are approximately 15,500 dryer fires every year, resulting in as many as 34 deaths, 430 injuries, and $209 million in property damages.

Q: Does it cost a lot to vent a dryer?
A: Yes!  There is a substantial cost in venting and each job is different. It can range from 300$ for an install on an exterior wall. Too as much as 1200$ on an interior wall with twenty plus foot of venting. It is so important to educate yourself before making any decision. Also we have to mention now, a well designed system will pay for itself    

Q: Why so much ?

A: Quality parts, Strong attention to design and hard work, that's what it takes to build a good system! It's been this anything goes mentality and cheep non functional products that confuse people into thinking its cheep and easy to vent 

Q: Well are there codes to protect me! that my installer has to follow 

A: Yes there are codes to follow but so often compromised and rarely inspected along with so many products not listed for venting. Here is link to Dryer code . Here we would also like to mention that it is an installers intent to make a living, most compromise quality due to pressure from end users to lower cost
